How The Smartboat Antifouling Works

Our company takes care of all your antifouling needs with no hidden costs. The photos are an example of the boats we care for and shows the quality we work too.  All our antifouling is done in Calanova.

We book a date for the lift, we take the boat to the lift where it remains in our care until finished. Turn around time is approx 7 days or less. During this time every part of the boat below the water line is pressure washed, Machine sanded and painted with Self Polishing Antifoul.

We recommend the side structure above the waterline are machine polished while the boat is out of the water. New Anodes are fitted to replace the old ones. Your boat is launch to the water and returned to your mooring.

Boatyard

Calanova Boatyard can lift vessels up to 80 ton. The personal are very profesional and friendly and most importantly the yard is clean, customers are welcome to view their vessel while work is underway.
Calanova has a Bar/Resturant with ample parking. Calanova is close to Port Portals, by boat approx 10 minutes towards Palma. There is a fuel quay and a hotel should you want to stay.

Vessel

After pressure washing the vessel is transported to it allocated position and put onto purpose built metal stands not wooden sticks. Props and platform running gear is cleaned and pressure washed and anodes removed.
The hull is allowed to dry before machine sanding, this gives time to clean the water line and polish above the water line before masking. After antifouling the new anodes are fitted. All intake grilles are cleared of debris and cleaned. This is also a good time to clean the raw water filters

Propspeed

IPS SERVICING & PROPSPEED

Application of PROPSPEED for IPS drives will enhance the performance of your vessel. Smartboat Company takes care of this work when your boat is being antifouled.
It is recommended that the IPS drives are serviced while out of the water. Oil and seals changed. Sea water mixing with the gear oil will cause expensive damage if not checked each season. Smartboat Company will make a booking to ensure qualified engineers complete this work.

Realy Bad Antifoul

Leaving your boat too long without lifting will damage the boat. This amount of growth will block the engine seawater intakes and cause the engines to overheat. If you leave the boat too long before lifting the Anodes will be gone which means the metal parts of your boat will be damaged beyond repair.
